让孩子从被动接受者变为一个主动参与者
本套书根据《美国小学语文》(第1~3册)编写而成,共有3册,对应《美国小学语文》第1~3册;每一册又分为阅读、完形练习和语言活动3个分册,语言活动分册因与另两个分册开本不同,遂以赠品形式配售。

1).阅读分册
阅读分册摘录了原书课文中适合朗读的典型句式,并保有原文的故事梗概。这些故事,内容上涉及日常生活中身边的人、身边的事。形式上新颖活泼,每页分为8帧,多以三五句配一精美图画为一帧;每一页可裁剪折叠成一小册随身携带,方便阅读。全书有附赠的纯正美式朗读录音,读者可先读后听,或边听边跟读,或先听后读。无论哪种方式,建议读者首先确立两个基本目标:*,让这些常用的典型句式烂熟于胸,尔后做到自然应用,脱口而出;第二,锻炼自己一开始就形成纯正的美式读音。这也是我们期望读者通过本书达到的目标。
阅读分册让孩子能够使用一份自己的教材,跟随老师或家长阅读。
1、在阅读词汇之前,老师先让学生猜测将要学习的内容。
2、逐一讨论每张图片,使学生凭借自己的个人知识解释图片。
3、根据孩子的年龄和能力水平,老师(家长)在朗读课文,孩子遵循文本边看教材、边听朗读。
4、朗读结束后,立即与孩子讨论教材中出现的他们不认识或无法理解的词汇。
5、*后,或让孩子自己默读,或与孩子一同大声朗读。
2).完形练习分册
完形练习分册与阅读分册内容相同,只是以空格的形式缺省了句子中的一些单词,让学生练习完形填空。而练习的方式可以是通过听逐句的光盘朗读后填写;也可以是对阅读分册先烂熟于胸,尔后再逐一填写;或者稍加思索和推测后填写,对于幼、小学生不宜过分强求如此;又或者读者自己随意开发出更新颖的方式。另外,在听音填空的过程中更好地加强了耳朵的听力。形式上也与阅读分册一样,也是每一页分8帧,也可以裁剪、折叠成小册随身携带练习。
完型填空练习分册文本与《阅读(Reading)》基本相同,只是关键词被省去。
1、孩子需要填入被省去的词汇。
2、填入词汇后,孩子再次阅读故事,保证填入的词汇是正确的。
3、孩子完成填空练习后,是老师(家长)介绍词性的绝好时机,老师(家长)可以讲解名词、形容词、动词、名词单复数、性别和时态。
3).语言活动分册
特别指出的是,作为附赠品的语言活动手册,内容上和形式上都更加丰富,更具特色,虽为赠品,却是大有光彩的部分。通过手册上的练习使语言学习过程变得趣味盎然。

They were originally designed to go with the seriesof books “The American Textbook”. They include some material from these books as well as original material which will assist your students to learn. They can, however, be used as a resource on their own. They include reading, clozes (this is completing the sentences) and fun activities which cover most aspects of the English Language.

How to Use these Books?

There are 3 different types of books
配套教材分为三本
Book 1 is a reading book. Students will have a copy of their own book to read with the teacher.
本为阅读教材。学生能够使用一份自己的教材,跟随老师阅读。
1.First, the teacher will discuss the pictures with the students. They will get the students (prior to reading the words) to predict what the book will be about.
首先,老师会与学生讨论图片。在阅读词汇之前,老师先让学生猜测将要学习的内容。
2.They will discuss each picture and draw on the student’s own personal knowledge of what they see.
老师与学生会逐一讨论每张图片,并让学生凭借自己的个人知识解释图片。
3.Depending on the age and ability level of the student, the teacher will then read the text to the students with the students following the text with their eyes and listening to the teacher’s words.
根据学生的年龄和能力水平,老师在课堂朗读课文,学生边看教材、边听老师的朗读。
4.Once the teacher has finished reading, the students will discuss with the teacher any words that were used that they did not know or understand in that context.

5.The students will then read the book either quietly to themselves or aloud with the teacher.

Book 2 is a book of CLOZE exercises.

1.It has exactly the same text as book 1 but there are key words missing.

2.The students have to fill in the missing words.

3.Once this is complete the students will read the story again to make sure they have the correct words in place.

4.This is a perfect time for teachers to discuss the types of words and talk about nouns, adjectives and verbs as well as singular and plural, gender and tenses.

Book 3 is an activity book. This is where the student has FUN with the language. The activities(the use of which will be described in more detail later in this manual) include:

Color by Number and Letter
为数字和字母涂色
Students are required to find the number or letter in the picture and color it whatever color has been given that letter or number. The educational reasons for doing these activities are:
学生先要找出图片中的数字或字母,再按照已给字母或数字的上色要求为图片中的字母或数字涂上颜色。这些练习旨在发展学生的下列技能:
1.Number and letter recognition.
识别数字和字母。
2.Color recognition (do they know that the word red corresponds to the color red).
识别颜色单词(学生是否知道“red(红色)”这个词汇应该与红颜色相对应)。
3.Fine motor control ( holding a pencil correctly and being able to color in fine detail assists with being able to write letter shapes and complete words).

4.The pictures that are in each book have relevance to the subject being discussed for that book. This is another opportunity for the teacher to draw on the personal experiences of the student. E.g. if the book is about dogs the teacher can discuss if the student has a dog, have they touched a dog, what it felt like, what a dog eats and many more discussion topics.

Following Directions and Instructions

Students will have a variety of activities where they will have to do what is being asked(Follow directions or instructions).

The educational reasons for doing these activities are:

1.The student must understand the (words) used in the instruction.
学生能理解说明中使用的词汇。
2.The student must read the words and instructions in the correct order (sequencing).
学生能按照正确的顺序阅读词汇和说明(定序)。
3.The student must understand the instruction/direction and then analyze and interpret what they are required to do.
学生首先要理解说明或指导,然后分析和解释老师交给他们的任务。
Choices
选择
In these activities students are presented with 2 choices. They can choose one or the other and then follow the directions that go with that choice.
在这些练习中,学生面对两种选择。他们可以选择其中任何一项,然后遵循被选选项给出的指导去做。
The educational reasons for doing these activities are:

1.The student will need to make a judgment(choose). Often it is an easy choice. (Do you like blue or red?) Sometimes it is more complex [not easy]. (Is nuclear energy good or bad?) This is an important skill for students to develop as they are beginning to use the word BECAUSE (analyze)! I like red because it makes me feel powerful. I think nuclear energy is bad because there are too many accidents with loss of life!

2.The student will then have to follow the directions given. In all educational settings there will be verbal and written directions/instructions to follow. Practicing these skills is vital for the successful development of the student.
