纪伯伦（1883—1931），黎巴嫩诗人、作家。幼时家贫，少年时代跟随家人移居美国，在此接触到先锋艺术并开始走上文学之路。他以英语和阿拉伯语进行创作，以散文诗见长，其作品在美国和阿拉伯地区均有巨大影响力，代表作有《先知》《沙与沫》等。纪伯伦与印度诗人泰戈尔齐名，被并称为“站在东西方文化桥梁的两位巨人”。

冰心（1900—1999），原名谢婉莹，福建长乐人，现代著名女作家、诗人、翻译家，被称为“世纪老人”。1923 年毕业于燕京大学，1946年在日本被东京大学聘为位外籍女教授，1951年返回中国。她创作的《寄小读者》《小橘灯》《樱花赞》影响了几代人；翻译作品包括纪伯伦《先知》《沙与沫》，以及印度诗人泰戈尔《吉檀迦利》《园丁集》等。1995 年，经黎巴嫩共和国总统签署授予其*雪松骑士勋章。
