前言2014 年，我国经济发展进入新常态，通用机械行业面对国内外复杂多变而严峻的市场形势，以加快技术进步和转型升级为宗旨，产业结构优化调整与开拓创新并举，稳中求进，行业整体发展取得较好的业绩，主要经济指标创历史新高。
2014 年，通用机械行业规模以上企业 5 309 家，拥有资产总额 7 560 亿元。
实现主营业务收入 9
384 亿元，同比增长 5.62%；完成出口交货值 1 020 亿元，同比增长 6.97%；实现利润总额 631 亿元，同比增长 1.31%；全行业完成固定资产投资额 2 194 亿元，同比增长 25.75%。
2014 年，通用机械行业依托核电、大型煤炭深加工、超（超）临界火电、天然气长输管线等重大工程，开展关键设备的研制，重大装备国产化取得一系列突破。其中：天然气长输管线 20MW 电驱压缩机已批量化生产，彻底改变了长期依懒进口的局面；10 万 m 3 /h 空分装置压缩机组全速全压试车成功，实现首台国产化；百万千瓦超（超）临界火电机组关键阀门在示范电厂成功替代进口产品，国产化率达 75% 以上。
中国通用机械工业协会与中国机械工业年鉴编辑委员会希望通过《中国通用机械工业年鉴》编辑出版，系统、全面地宣传通用机械行业在转型升级、高端制造、“两化融合”以及推进重大技术装备国产化等方面取得的成就，展望行业由大到强的发展前景，进一步促进行业的技术进步和经济可持续发展。
