　　《大学英语阅读教程》中的所有材料均选自国外近期报纸、杂志、网络，内容广博，题材广泛，语言规范，寓知识性、趣味性、前沿性、思想性于一体。在编写过程中，我们充分考虑了目前非重点高等院校学生，特别是农业院校学生的英语水平和大学英语教学要求，在单元安排、内容取舍、体例结构上注意区分教学层次，根据由浅入深、循序渐进、方便教学的原则安排教学内容。
　　《大学英语阅读教程》共4册，每册8个单元。根据学生水平，教材由易到难，按册分为1～4级。第1册，以国内外大学生的校园学习、生活等热点问题为主，长篇阅读700词左右；第2册，以与大学生相关的社会文化、生活热点话题为主，长阅读800词左右；第3册，以当今经济、科技发展以及带来的影响为主题，长阅读900词左右；第4册，以农业科技相关的社会热点话题为主，长阅读1，000词左右。
