实用英语教程1/高等职业教育“十三五”规划教材

《实用英语综合教程》根据《高等职业教育英语课程教学要求》的精神，坚持”以应用为目的，实用为主，够用为度”的前提，培养学生一定的语言运用能力，为高职高专培养实用性人才。 

本教材一共编写两册，学生在完成*学期的学习后，具备可以通过“高等学校英语应用能力考试”B级的能力。在完成第二学期的学习后，具备可以通过“高等学校英语应用能力考试”A级的能力。本套教材取材丰富，题材多样，贴近生活，时代感强，是一套集应用性，实用性，趣味性和文化性为一体的特色英语教材。

吴丽娜，自2009年参加工作以来，一直从事高职高专英语一线教学工作。曾发表论文多篇，获得校级教案比赛二等奖，讲课比赛三等奖等。全国大学生英语竞赛一等奖指导教师。

导入（Leading In and Exploring）: 导课部分趣味性强，选取热门话题与本单元内容紧密相连，通过设置话题，要求学生小组或结对式讨论，使得学生积极参与，互动，从而提高学生英语口语能力。并且围绕主题给出主题相关词汇，辅助学生参与讨论的同时也扩大了词汇量。

 

课文（Text A & B）: 每单元包含两篇主题相近的课文，强调知识性和趣味性。主要选择国外书刊，通常包含一个故事。题材包括态度重要性，节日，网络纪元，礼物，健康生活，名人，时尚，职场女性等。内容新颖，语言生动有趣。

主要目的是加强学生的阅读能力和文化交际能力。

生词和短语词组 (Words and Expressions) : 生词和短语中文释义，力求简洁准确，主要为了帮助学生扩大词汇量。

 

注释 (Notes) : 对课文中涉及的社会，历史，文化，人名，地名等专有名词提供背景知识介绍，对一些难点及特殊的语言点也给予必要的解释。

习题 (Exercises) : 课文A中包括三类题型，分别是阅读与思考（read and think），阅读与填空（read and complete），阅读与翻译（read and translate)。课文B中包括三类题型，分别是阅读与判断（read and Judge)，阅读与填空（read and complete），阅读与翻译（read and translate)。

 

语法知识 (Grammar Tips) : 按语法项目进行较系统的专项练习，为学生语言技能的培养打基础。

实用写作 (Practical Writing) : 参考”高等学校英语应用能力考试”(B级)的题型及内容，结合高职高专学生今后职业生涯中应用英语的实际，并根据（基本要求）中有关语言交际能力的具体要求，着重安排实用性应用文章，如自我介绍名片，贺卡通知，邀请函，道歉信，祝贺信等。

My dad was upset – not the usual stuff that he and Mom worry about, like which college I’m going to, how far away it is from home and how much it’s going to cost. Instead, he was upset about the world his generation is turning over to mine. He sounded like this: ”There will be a pandemic that kills millions, a devastating energy crisis, a horrible worldwide depression and a nuclear explosion set off in anger.” As I lay on the living room couch, starting to worry about the future my father was describing, I found myself looking at some old family photos. There was a picture of my grandfather in his uniform. He was a member of the war class. Next to his picture were photos of my great-grandparents. Seeing those pictures made me feel a lot better. I believe tomorrow will be better, not worse. Those pictures helped me understand why I considered some of the awful things my grandparents and great-grandparents had seen in their lifetimes: two world wars, killer flu, and a nuclear bomb. But they saw other things, too, better things: the end of two world wars, the polio vaccine, and passage of the civil rights laws. I believe that my generation will see better things, too – that we will witness the time when AIDS is cured and cancer is defeated; when the Middle East will find peace, and the Cubs win the World Series – probably only once. I will see things as inconceivable to me today as a moon shot was to my grandfather when he was 16 or the Internet to my father when he was 16.
